English Newsom Cellars and Gateau de' Jil are family owned local businesses. We are partnering to do a sparkling wine and crispy Southern fried chicken pairing. When it comes to pairing wine with fried chicken, your best bet is sparkling wine. It’s hard to find a place that serves fried chicken with fine wine so, we took this classic pairing into our own hands. 

The crispy Southern fried chicken pieces are dipped in buttermilk, coated with seasoned batter, and deep fried with a crisp coating on the outside and tender, juicy chicken on the inside. It pairs perfectly with Sparkling Picardan. The wine effortlessly cuts through the oil, salt, and fat in fried chicken which cleanses and refreshes your palate with every bite. To complete this meal we have combined two of our favorite desserts into one decadent bite. Enjoy banana pudding cheesecake with a vanilla wafer crust and creamy banana filling.

Elegant, vibrant, and lots of fine bubbles! Our 2023 Sparkling Picardan has charming aromas of pear, green apple, and floral notes. The delightful palate is light and crisp, with the perfect balance of acidity with a touch of sweetness. Citrus fruits and white peach flavors dance hand in hand with tiny, bright, smooth, and long lasting bubbles throughout the finish.
