2019 Sagrantino
Native to central Italy, Umbria, this grape variety has some of the highest natural tannin content. This variety was aged in a combination of neutral and new french oak for 14 months. Flavors of baked cherry/raspberry and smoky vanilla combine to balance and soften this usually tannic variety. The 2019 vintage is versatile and goes well not only with the usual suspects for pasta and lasagna, but also can hold up with beefier stews and pork dishes.
